Playing together is easiest when the group makes its account and character choices in the same order. A visible friend name is not enough if the characters are separated by service region, server, faction or an instanced copy of the same area.
Match Region, Server and Faction First
Before anyone invests in a main character, confirm that every player selected the same region, same server and same faction. Write the choices in the group chat and compare the exact labels on the character-selection screen.
Elyos and Asmodians follow different story spaces, so a group intending to quest together should agree on one faction. The faction comparison explains the world and presentation differences without treating either side as stronger.
If one person cannot find the others in search, return to character selection and recheck these three fields before changing privacy settings or reinstalling the game.
Add a Friend and Form a Party
Open the social or Manage Friend area and search for the exact character name. Capitalization and spaces matter in some interfaces, so copying the displayed name is safer than retyping it.
- Send a friend request from the intended character.
- Ask the other player to accept it while online.
- Select the friend and use party invite.
- Confirm that all members appear in the party list before entering shared content.
- Let the leader choose the next shared objective so the group does not split across different queues or entrances.
Menu wording can move after updates. If the friend or party action is not on the first menu, check the character context menu and the current Social window rather than assuming the feature is missing.
Get Into the Same Channel
Open-world areas can place players in separate channels or copies even when they stand at the same map marker. Use the party or member context menu and look for Follow Channel or the current equivalent. After switching, wait for the area to finish loading and compare nearby landmarks or channel indicators.
Do not repeatedly leave and recreate the party while a channel move is still processing. That can make it harder to tell whether the party, channel or current activity caused the separation.
Same map, different copy
If names appear in the party list but characters remain invisible, channel or instance separation is more likely than a friend-list problem.
Tutorial and Solo-Instance Limits
Some early steps and story scenes may keep a character in a solo sequence. When an invite button is unavailable or a member cannot follow the leader, finish the current tutorial, conversation or solo instance, reach the next normal field area and try again.
Compare quest names before continuing. Party members can share a location while being on different story stages, and the next objective may send them into separate scenes. The beginner guide helps the group align its early progression route.
Entering Dungeons Together
Before queueing or entering, check that every member meets the requirement shown by the current client. Item Level, unlocked story progress, remaining entry or reward conditions, and party size can differ by activity and patch.
- Gather outside the entrance or agree who will start matchmaking.
- Check roles and consumables before the leader confirms entry.
- Do not assume joining late will place a member into the same run.
- After a disconnect, follow the activity's current reconnect prompt before creating a replacement party.
The game interface is the authority for the current eligibility and reward state. Avoid relying on an old fixed entry count copied from a previous version.
If You Still Cannot Meet
Work down this order so each check eliminates one cause:
- Compare service region, server and faction again.
- Confirm both characters are online and the friend request was accepted.
- Reform the party after both players return to a normal field area.
- Use Follow Channel or the current channel-follow action.
- Leave solo story scenes, queues and private instances before retrying.
- Check whether maintenance or login instability is active in the server-status guide.
If only one account is affected, save the error text and contact official support. If everyone is disconnected at the same moment, check official notices before changing local files.
A Simple Group Routine
Choose one person to call server, faction, channel and queue decisions. Keep the party together while accepting story steps, stop when a member enters a solo scene, and regroup before the next shared activity. A thirty-second readiness check prevents most cases where one player advances into a different copy while everyone else is still loading.
