AION 2 Class Tier List (October 2026): PvE and PvP Rankings
An editorial class-choice snapshot for AION 2's global launch, comparing group roles, solo play and PvP strengths across the starting classes.
Updated: 2026-10-11 · Published: 2026-10-11
This is an editorial class-choice snapshot dated October 11, 2026, not a measured damage leaderboard. It weighs party roles, utility, solo comfort and PvP playstyle. Class balance can change with patches, so use it to narrow your choice rather than as a definitive performance ranking.
Group PvE (Dungeons & Raids)
Group PvE values what you bring to the party, not just personal damage — which is why the tank, healer and buffer top the list:
| Tier | Classes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Templar, Cleric, Chanter | Only true tank, only true healer, and the party-wide buffer — structurally mandatory in hard content |
| A | Sorcerer, Ranger, Gladiator | Strong, reliable damage dealers |
| B | Assassin, Spiritmaster | Excellent damage, but bring less party utility |
Boss Damage Potential
Personal damage depends heavily on gear, skill investment, encounter mechanics and player execution. We do not have a comparable, public global boss-clear dataset for all eight classes, so this section does not assign measured DPS tiers. If damage is your priority, compare current builds and fight conditions before choosing a main.
Assassin and Sorcerer are common damage-focused choices; Cleric is primarily a healer, while Chanter contributes group buffs alongside personal damage. Those role descriptions are more useful than an unsupported cross-class DPS number.
Solo / Farming
Safety and sustain rule solo play: Spiritmaster (pets tank for you), Gladiator and Ranger lead here, with minimal downtime between pulls.
PvP
- Assassin: the premier roamer and arena burst pick — deletes isolated targets.
- Sorcerer: strong in arenas and organized fights.
- Gladiator / Ranger: constant pressure, gap closers and lockdowns.
- Cleric / Chanter / Spiritmaster: enormous value in group PvP and Abyss sieges.
Pick by Goal
| Your goal | Best pick |
|---|---|
| First character / beginner | Gladiator |
| Safe ranged main | Ranger |
| Solo play | Spiritmaster or Gladiator |
| Tank | Templar (only true tank) |
| Healer | Cleric (only true healer) |
| Party support | Chanter |
| Damage-focused playstyle | Assassin or Sorcerer |
The honest disclaimer
Balance patches since the Korean launch have brought class damage close together, and party buffs from different classes often don't stack — composition matters more than any single pick. The "worst" class played well beats the "best" class played badly. Pick what you enjoy; check our classes overview for playstyles.
This editorial ranking will be revisited after balance changes. It is not a substitute for class-specific skill and gear testing.
