Gatherables are the world resources used by crafting, profession quests and the player economy. The same visible resource name can appear in more than one proficiency tier or resource category, so identify it by the current tooltip and map marker rather than relying on the name alone.
Resource Types
The recorded resource list uses labels including Metal Ore, Rare Metal, Gems, Herbs, Trees, Flowers and Od for airborne Odyle resources. These categories help determine which specialty bonuses and map filters apply.
| Resource family | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Metal Ore and Rare Metal | Ingots, weapons, armor and metal components |
| Gems | Accessories, decorations and profession progression |
| Trees and wood resources | Weapon, accessory or component recipes |
| Herbs and Flowers | Alchemy, Cooking and consumable materials |
| Od / Odyle | Airborne gathering and supported material conversion |
Names and classifications can vary by region or build. If a resource appears under two type labels, follow the category shown by your live client when spending specialty points.
Proficiency and Resource Variants
Resources can appear in beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert rows. This does not always mean four visually different nodes; it can represent versions used at different proficiency ranges or in different regions. Check the requirement before flying across the map for a node you cannot gather efficiently.
Higher-quality results may use prefixes such as Fine or Pure. They are separate materials for recipe purposes even when they come from the same base resource. Keep them in distinct inventory slots and verify the exact ingredient requested by a recipe or promotion quest.
How a Gathering Attempt Works
The Essence Extraction guide covers the shared success and failure gauges, proficiency and specialty points. In practice, route planning matters as much as the gauge. Start in a safe area, turn on the appropriate minimap filter, and clear nearby hostile enemies before interacting with a valuable node.
Odyle is gathered in the air and consumes Wing Energy while you remain airborne. Begin with enough energy to finish the attempt and reach safe ground. For surface nodes, approach from a direction that avoids patrols so combat does not interrupt the extraction.
Build an Efficient Farming Route
Choose one or two resource families before leaving town. Empty inventory, repair, set a nearby return point and carry only the consumables needed for the route. Move in a loop instead of reversing direction after every node; a loop gives earlier nodes time to reappear while you gather elsewhere.
Record the region and layer when you find a productive cluster. A map pin without elevation, cave entrance or flight layer can be misleading. Combine gathering with Episode, Exploration or daily travel, but skip a distant node if reaching it costs more time than the material saves.
Gather for a Recipe, Not Just a Name
Open the target recipe first and calculate every base and refined material. The crafting recipes guide explains how to expand component chains. Gather the bottleneck material first; common inputs can often be collected incidentally or purchased later.
Do not process the entire haul immediately. Some materials are used directly, while others must be refined or can be converted through Substance Morph. Keep enough unprocessed stock until you know which form the final recipe needs.
Inventory and Market Decisions
Separate resources into three groups: current recipe materials, promotion or quest materials, and sale stock. Lock rare quest items if the client permits it. Before listing a stack, compare its value with the refined component and final product, including crafting failure and market fees.
A material with a high listing price is not automatically profitable if few players buy it. Test a smaller stack first. Bound resources should be valued by the progression they create for your character, not by an unavailable market price.
Route Checklist
- Select the resource type and confirm your proficiency.
- Pin the recipe or quantity you are gathering for.
- Enable the matching minimap filter and plan a loop.
- Bring enough Wing Energy support for Odyle routes.
- Preserve higher-quality variants and quest materials.
- Recheck locations after a patch or regional update.
Resource tables and spawn behavior are version-sensitive. Use the current map, tooltip and recipe list as the final authority, especially when a familiar name appears in several categories or proficiency tiers.
