AION 2 Character Creation Guide: Presets, Customization and Appearance Changes

AION 2's character creator is one of its headline features, with NCSoft advertising over 200 customization options. This guide covers the creation flow, the preset sharing system, and what it costs to change your look later.

The Creation Flow

1. Pick a body type (two frames) and a preset as your foundation — presets are organized by race, gender and role and are the fastest way to start.
2. Face: head shape, jaw and cheekbones, forehead, ears (elf ears are possible), and a very deep eye section — size, depth, rotation, eyelids, lashes and brows, with hex-code colors and support for heterochromia (different iris colors per eye).
3. Hair: hairstyles are not gender-locked, with full color control.
4. Style: makeup (eyeshadow, lipstick with gloss and glitter controls), eyeliner, beauty spots, face art, scars, tattoos, forehead symbols and facial hair.
5. Body: height, width, head and neck size, limb lengths and muscle definition.

Downloading and Sharing Presets

You don't have to build from scratch:

• Browse community presets on the official AION 2 Style Shop website, with filters by class and categories like Funny, Cute or Scary.
• Downloaded presets land in your Download Storage; load them in-game via Customization → Manage Appearance.
• To share your own creation, take a Snapshot with "Include Customization Info" enabled.

Changing Your Appearance Later

• Initial creation is free and unlimited during character creation.
• Re-editing a finished character requires a Customization Voucher/Ticket, which is a paid or event item — launch Twitch Drop campaigns have included customization tickets, so check current codes and events before buying one.
• Faction does not restrict customization: both Elyos and Asmodians share the identical creator. See faction differences for what the faction choice actually changes.

Practical Tips

• Start from the preset closest to your goal, then fine-tune sliders — it is much faster than starting from a blank face.
• Character names pass through a prohibited-word filter; have a backup name ready.
• You get multiple free character slots, so experimenting is cheap — but remember that most progression is character-bound.
