AION 2 Ruby Gathering Guide: Regions and Splendent Ruby

Ruby is a gem material gathered through Essence Extraction, used in Handicrafting and Alchemy recipes. The rare variant — Splendent Ruby — is associated with the promotion quest for Professional-rank gathering. This guide identifies regions and gathering tactics, not exact node coordinates.

Where Ruby Nodes Spawn

Ruby Gemstone Deposits appear in the mid-level zones of both factions:

• Elyos: Search Verteron's canyon walls and rocky outcrops.
• Asmodian: Altgard offers the equivalent spawn areas, typically along cliffs and quarry-like terrain.

General rules for finding deposits:

1. Unlock the Seeker specialty for Gems in Essence Extraction — deposits then show on your minimap.
2. Ruby nodes share spawn areas with other gem deposits; circle the rocky edges of each zone rather than open fields.
3. Nodes are per-player attempts but spawn points are shared — on crowded servers, gather during off-peak hours.

Getting the Splendent Ruby

The promotion quest at Novice rank 50 requires a Splendent Ruby, and this trips up many players:

• Splendent Ruby is a rare bonus result from gathering ordinary Ruby deposits — there is no separate "Splendent node" to find.
• It is pure RNG per attempt. Keep farming regular ruby nodes and it will drop eventually.
• Raise your Appraiser specialty (higher-quality chance) and your gathering rank to improve your odds of quality results.
• Each node gives about 3 attempts, so plan a route that loops several deposits and returns as they respawn.

What Ruby Is Used For

• Handicrafting: accessories (rings, earrings, necklaces) — the gear tier that can roll +1 skill levels.
• Alchemy: selected manastone and consumable recipes.
• Selling: higher-quality (Fine/Pure) rubies fetch a solid price on the market if you are gathering for Kinah.
