AION 2 includes an official, built-in macro system — no third-party software, no gray zone. Used well, it compresses your rotation into a single key while staying fully within the rules.
Where the Macro System Lives
- Open your skill window and look for the Macro button (top-right of the window).
- Bind the macro key under Settings → Key Settings → General → Macro — many players put it on a mouse button or right-click.
How Skill Sequencing Works
AION 2's skill bar lets you stack multiple skills on one keybind. When you press the key, the game fires the stacked skills top-down as their cooldowns allow — effectively a one-button priority rotation.
A sensible stacking order for most classes:
- Gap closer / opener first
- Core damage skills next, highest priority on top
- Stagger/crowd-control dump after that
- A no-cooldown filler (your mana-regen attack) at the bottom, so the key always does something
Holding left+right click together also weaves basic mana-regen attacks between skills.
Works for every class
Macro stacking is a system-level feature, not a class perk. Tanks, healers and supports benefit just as much — stack buffs and your main heal/attack sequence so nothing sits off cooldown.
Setup Tips
- Reorder skills on the bar by right-clicking a skill, then clicking the target slot (or long-click and drag).
- Don't stack your emergency cooldowns (cleanse, escape, potions) into the rotation key — keep those on separate binds so macros never waste them.
- Revisit your stack order whenever a skill's level changes its cooldown — a skill that gains a cooldown reset at higher level may belong higher in the stack.
- Macros won't dodge mechanics for you. For boss fights, keep manual control of movement and defensive skills.
What NOT to Use
Third-party automation (auto-hotkey scripts, bots) violates the game's terms and risks your account. The built-in system covers legitimate rotation compression — if you want to measure the results, see our damage meter guide for the safe built-in Combat Analysis tool.
