AION 2 Spacetime Rift Guide: Schedule, Rules and Rewards
How Spacetime Rifts work in AION 2: the 3-hour cycle, entry window, 1-hour invasion rules, and the best things to do on the enemy continent.

Spacetime Rifts are AION 2's invasion events: temporary portals that let you cross into the opposing faction's continent. They are one of the most time-sensitive systems in the game — miss the window and you wait for the next cycle.
How Rifts Work
- Schedule: rifts open on a roughly 3-hour real-time cycle. An open rift appears on the world map as a purple swirl, and the game introduces the system through a side quest.
- Entry window: once a rift opens you have only about 10 minutes to enter, and each rift caps the number of players who can pass. Arrive early.
- Time inside: you get 1 hour on the enemy continent.
- Death = ejection: if you die while invading, you are sent back to your own continent and cannot re-enter that rift.
You are in enemy territory
Hostile players can kill you during an invasion, and death ends your run. Travel light on buffs you can't afford to lose, avoid the enemy's main hubs, and move with a group when possible.
What to Do Across the Rift
The enemy continent offers content you literally cannot access at home:
- Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds — the enemy side's copies award large amounts of enhancement stones, useful for your permanent Belt and Amulet upgrades.
- Exclusive enemies and pets — several pets can only be soul-collected on the opposing continent (see our pet locations guide).
- World bosses and quests — the enemy continent's field bosses and one-time quests, plus its Monolith for feather turn-ins.
- Hidden Cubes — enemy-side hidden cubes if you have keys to spare.
Priorities for a 1-Hour Run
- Sealed Dungeons first — shortest, guaranteed value.
- Strongholds next for Belt scrolls and enhancement stones.
- Pet soul farming for continent-exclusive pets along the way.
- Skip anything that risks PvP encounters you can't win — dying wastes the whole rift.
Tracking Rift Times
In-game rift timing information is limited, so the community uses external timer sites and Discord bots to track the cycle. A built-in timer tool is on our roadmap — until then, treat the ~3-hour cycle as approximate and watch the map around expected times. If you can confirm exact spawn times on your server, reach out via the community links in the footer so we can update this page.
